The Wiggles

My little boy is obsessed with The Wiggles! After watching the DVD yesterday for hours and hours I decided to take a look at their website. Anyhow I saw that they were going to be in my town for a concert so.....today I bought tickets to take my son! I'm excited because it's a few days before his birthday and I know he'll have a blast! He doesn't really understand the concept that we are actually going to see The Wiggles live, but I'm more excited than he is! I have a secret crush on the Blue Wiggle (Anthony)! lol I'm also a little disappointed that the Yellow Wiggle doesn't tour with them anymore! :(
But I think they are awesome! I could watch them over and over again! It's funny because they have all of these dances that they do while they sing. I'll stand up and start doing the dance, and my son will look at me and say "NO!" He obviously doesn't like my dancing! lol But I'll keep everyone updated on the concert! I thought it would be cool if we all dressed like The Wiggles, each in a different color shirt! I'm having too much fun with this, I need to go to bed! lol

Stupid Sewing Machine!!!!!

I became totally stressed out today! I found a cute pattern for a wristlet bag/wallet type of thing. I'm very sewing-impaired! I can't hand sew, and I can't even figure out my stupid machine! I've always wanted to sew and create things so a couple years ago on Mother's Day my husband bought me a sewing machine. I hate having to read instructions on how to operate things so I had my husband read it because I became extremely frustrated trying to figure it out on my own. So ever once in a while when I got the urge to sew I would have him set it up for me! Anyhow....today I got the urge to make a wristlet! (By the way-I'm pattern impaired too)! I found this pattern that I finally could understand, my husband set up the machine when he got home from work this morning and he went to bed. I started to sew and I got one line done and the thread got all messed up! I was soo frustrated, I had to read the manual. I was running out of time, the baby was napping and I just wanted to get this wristlet done! Well I ended up reading the manual the whole time until the baby woke up, and I still couldnt' figure out what was wrong. The good thing is that I learned a whole lot about my sewing machine (which excites me) and when my husband woke up we figured out the problem! And believe it or not I finished my wristlet! It's not perfect but there is a patterned liner on the inside and a little strap and the zipper works! I'm tickled pink!

Strange Birds......

I was at my sister's house the other day and we discovered a bird's nest right in the middle of her gravel driveway! Stupid bird! It is a killdeer and it was always sitting in the middle of her driveway. It would fly away if we got near only to return a few minutes later. We walked down to investigate and there it was four little eggs among the gravel! How cute! We were careful driving up the road and in a few days the babies hatched safe and sound!

Summer Cookies....

I recently bought this summertime cookbook and in it found this cute recipe for cookies that resemble watermelons! I thought I would give it a try. They are a butter cookie flavored with almond extract....they taste nothing like watermelons! I almost gave up and threw the batch of dough in the garbage. They were a bit tricky to make (mine don't look perfect at all), but I think they came out cute. I'm not much of a baker but I hope to make these again!

Big Blue Eyes

I'm wondering if Alex has the same rare eye condition as Ben? He has huge blue eyes as well! Ben has a rare eye condition known as "megalocornea." It just means that the colored part of the eye is larger than normal. He has other rare eye conditions as well, but we're lucky it's nothing serious! Most people who see my boys always comment on how beautiful their eyes are! Last month Ben had eye surgery to repair a weak muscle....he's finally feeling better now! Here's a picture of both of the boys. Ben loves putting on people's glasses (he keeps them on only for a couple of seconds)....I was lucky enough to capture a photo of him in some funny glasses! He has also been into wearing hats lately. He loves any type of hats....bucket hats, construction hats, safari hats, hunting hats, and trucker hats!

Ben's Farmer Photo Shoot

I had a total blast taking photos of Ben for his 2nd birthday invitation! He is soo funny! He was a little cranky and wouldn't smile, but I loved how they turned out anyway! At one point when I put the overalls on him he said "Don't like it!" But he says that to everything! The whole photo shoot he either said "no" or "don't like it" but he's almost at that terrible twos stage (if he's not there already)! At the end of the shoot he had a blast splashing in the pond!
